El objetivo del artículo es realizar una descripción de la evolución conceptual del Derecho Internacional Vecinal, como una derivación del Derecho Internacional Público relativo a las zonas de frontera. En particular, se revisan las iniciativas que Venezuela y Colombia han adelantado en los últimos 20 años y que han experimentado tanto bilateralmente como con sus respectivos vecinos. Del mismo modo, se examina el tratamiento del tema a nivel multilateral en la ONU y someramente en la CAN.

This paper aims to realise a description about the conceptual evolution on the International Border Law, derived from the
International Right Public Law and regarding to the border areas. In particular, Venezuelan and Colombian initiatives are
reviewed and how they have advanced in the last 20 years and have experimented in bilaterally ways. In the same way, the
treatment of this subject at multilateral level in the UN is examined and also the CAN is considered briefly.
